Healthcare HVAC across Heathrow, West London and the M4 corridor. Air conditioning, clinical ventilation and maintenance, built to tight tolerances and fully documented.
Healthcare environments hold tight tolerances for a reason. Get the temperature, the airflow or the filtration wrong and it’s a clinical risk. Arctic Cooling delivers healthcare HVAC across Heathrow, West London and the M4 corridor: air conditioning, ventilation and mechanical services built and maintained to keep conditions controlled, documented and compliant.
We’re based around Heathrow and work through West London and the Thames Valley — Hounslow, Slough, Staines, Uxbridge and the M4/M25 corridor — across Heathrow, West London and the M4 corridor. Our engineers are cleared to work airside at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted — controlled environments where documentation, discipline and no shortcuts are the baseline, not the exception. That’s the same discipline healthcare work needs.
Clinical spaces, pharmacies, labs, equipment rooms and IT spaces sit within tighter limits than a normal office. Hospital air conditioning has to hold temperature and humidity where the space needs them, not just where they feel comfortable. We install and maintain air conditioning and close-control cooling that keeps those limits continuously, and we specify the kit to suit the room. As a Daikin D1 installer — Daikin’s highest tier, which carries extended manufacturer warranties — and a Mitsubishi approved partner, we back the system with proper manufacturer support rather than leaving you on your own after handover.
Ventilation in a healthcare building covers air-change rates, pressure regimes and filtration grades that suit the clinical function of each space — a general ward, a treatment room, a GP surgery and a support area don’t all carry the same requirement. We design, install and maintain mechanical ventilation for healthcare settings, working to [confirm which healthcare standards Arctic works to]. Where a space needs a specific pressure relationship or filtration grade, that gets built in and verified on commissioning, not assumed. Clinical ventilation performance is measured and recorded, so you have evidence it does what it should.
A healthcare estate can’t run on reactive fixes alone. We provide planned maintenance with the records to prove it: service history, filter changes, performance checks and the paperwork an estates team or an auditor will ask to see. On healthcare sites the documentation is part of the job, not an afterthought. Maintenance-contract clients get faster response and, where the contract provides for it, up to 24/7 cover.
When something fails on a live site, it needs fixing without turning a ward or a waiting room into a building site. Every client gets same-day reactive call-out. Our engineers are used to working around live operations and vulnerable people — quietly, cleanly, and to a plan agreed with the site. We work to whatever access the site needs — escorted, timed around a ward’s routine, or scheduled with the estates team in advance — and we keep them updated while the job runs, from first fix to sign-off. Where work is disruptive, we phase it or run it out of hours so the building keeps functioning.
Arctic Cooling holds its airside signatory status, airside driving permits and engineer passes directly in its own name at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted — not borrowed through a third party. If we can deliver in a controlled environment at a live airport, we can deliver in your building. Our flagship airside work includes cooling for Hold Baggage Screening and repairs to the Pre-Conditioned Air units that feed conditioned air to parked aircraft — work that doesn’t tolerate shortcuts. You can read more about working airside.
We self-deliver all seven of our trades in-house: air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, catering, mechanical and ventilation, and maintenance. On a healthcare site that means one accountable contractor from survey to sign-off, with no blame-chain between separate firms when trades need coordinating around a live estate. It also means fewer separate contractors moving through a clinical building, fewer site inductions to manage, and one team to hold accountable if something needs picking up. Our electrical work is carried out under NICEIC approval, and we hold F-Gas certification, SafeContractor approval and Constructionline Gold.
Whether you’re specifying a new system, upgrading an existing one or looking for a maintenance contract that stands up to audit, we’ll give you a straight answer on what’s involved and what it needs to meet. Call or email to arrange a survey.
