Commercial catering equipment maintenance | Arctic

Commercial catering equipment maintenance, installation and repair across Heathrow, West London and the M4 corridor. Same-day reactive cover from one in-house contractor.

Commercial catering equipment, installed and maintained

A commercial kitchen can’t trade with broken equipment. When a combi oven trips out or a prep fridge fails mid-service, the covers back up and the revenue stops with them. Arctic Cooling installs and looks after commercial catering equipment across Heathrow, West London and the M4 corridor, and our commercial catering equipment maintenance is backed by the same fast reactive cover as the rest of our work. Catering is one of seven trades we deliver in-house, so the firm that fits your kitchen is the firm that keeps it running.

What we cover

We work across the electrical, refrigeration and mechanical side of a commercial kitchen — the cooking, cold storage, warewashing and prep equipment a professional kitchen runs on. That covers ranges, combi and convection ovens, fryers, griddles, prep and display fridges, walk-in cold rooms, ice machines, and commercial dishwashers and glasswashers. We don’t cover gas-fired appliances, so if your plant runs on gas you’ll need a specialist for that part of the kitchen — everything electric or refrigerated on the line is ours to install, service and repair.

Commercial kitchen equipment installation

New fit-out or a single replacement unit, we handle the commercial kitchen equipment installation and the services behind it — power, drainage, water, and the extract and ventilation the equipment needs to run safely. Because we self-deliver the trades around the kitchen as well, the electrics and pipework are done by our own engineers on the same job, not handed to a separate firm on a separate visit weeks later. That keeps the programme tight and the responsibility in one place.

Planned maintenance

Planned servicing keeps a kitchen compliant and cuts the failures that shut it down mid-service. We service to manufacturer schedules, clean and check the equipment, test controls and safeties, and flag wear before it turns into a breakdown. Most manufacturers want catering equipment serviced at least once a year, and heavily used lines more often than that. Put it on a maintenance and service contract and you get faster response and, where agreed, up to 24/7 cover.

Reactive repair

When something goes down mid-service you need it back fast, not a slot in three days’ time. We offer same-day reactive call-out for catering equipment repair across our patch, and maintenance-contract clients get priority response ahead of that. Our engineers carry common spares, so a good number of faults get fixed on the first visit. Where a unit is past economic repair, we’ll tell you straight — an ageing fryer or fridge that keeps failing usually costs more in lost trade and repeat call-outs than a replacement, and we can quote the swap rather than keep patching it.

One contractor for the whole kitchen

A commercial kitchen runs on more than the catering equipment. There’s the refrigeration holding your stock at temperature, and the ventilation and extract pulling heat and grease out over the line. When those are split across three or four contractors, a fault in one becomes an argument about whose fault it is — and the kitchen stays shut while they work it out between them.
We deliver all of it in-house. Catering equipment, refrigeration, ventilation and extract, from one contractor with one point of contact and one number to call. No chasing four firms to get one kitchen back open, and no gaps where each blames the next. That joined-up cover matters most in hotels and hospitality — see our work in hotels and hospitality.

Who you're dealing with

Arctic Cooling has been trading since 2016, with approaching 40 engineers on the books. We’re F-Gas certified for the refrigeration side, SafeContractor approved, Constructionline Gold, and a NICEIC Approved Contractor on the commercial electrical work that ties a kitchen together. Our client list includes Fortnum & Mason, and we’re also cleared to work airside at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted, with the passes and permits held in our own name. If we can deliver inside a live airport, we can deliver in your kitchen.

Frequently asked questions

How often should commercial catering equipment be serviced?

Most manufacturers recommend servicing at least once a year to keep equipment compliant and under warranty, and heavily used items such as fryers, combi ovens and dishwashers benefit from more frequent visits. On a maintenance contract we set a schedule to suit how hard the kitchen works, so servicing lands before problems do rather than after.

Small faults get worse until the unit fails, usually at the worst possible time in the middle of service. Unmaintained equipment also runs less efficiently, costs more to power, and can void manufacturer warranties. Planned servicing catches wear early, which is cheaper than a same-day call-out and a kitchen that can’t trade.

It depends on the unit, its age and how often it’s failing. A one-off fault on a sound piece of kit is worth repairing; a unit that keeps breaking down and losing you trade usually costs more in call-outs and lost covers than a replacement. When we attend a repair we’ll give you an honest view either way and quote the swap if that’s the better call.
One contractor. We deliver catering equipment, refrigeration, ventilation and extract in-house with our own engineers, so a whole kitchen is covered under one point of contact. That removes the blame-chain between separate firms and gets a kitchen back open faster when something fails.

Beyond Cooling — the wider Arctic Group

Arctic Cooling is the founding division of Arctic Group. Alongside us sit Arctic Scaffolding, Arctic Glazing and Arctic Fire — so where a project needs access built, a façade glazed or a fire compartment reinstated, it stays under one group, one set of accreditations and one point of
