Commercial air conditioning repair | Arctic Cooling

Same-day commercial air conditioning repair across Heathrow, West London and the M4 corridor. Refrigeration and mechanical breakdowns too. Call Arctic Cooling, we move.

Commercial air conditioning repair when your site goes down

A cooling or refrigeration failure on a commercial site costs money by the hour — spoiled stock, a server room climbing past its limit, a shop floor or office no one can work in. We run same-day reactive call-out for commercial air conditioning repair, refrigeration breakdowns and mechanical faults across Heathrow, West London and the M4 corridor. Ring the fault through, tell us what’s failed, and we get an engineer moving that day.

Same-day for every client, 24/7 for contract sites

Every client gets a same-day reactive response. Call the fault in and we’ll have an engineer to you that day, not slotted in for next week. If you’re on a maintenance contract with us, you get more: faster response and cover that can run up to 24/7, nights and weekends included, with response times set around how critical your site is. A data centre or a healthcare unit can’t wait the way a quiet back office can, so we agree the response times up front and hold to them. That level of cover is a contract benefit — worth setting up before you need it, not scrambling for it during a breakdown. For a one-off emergency air conditioning repair with no contract in place, you still get same-day.

Fixed on the first visit

Our engineers are employed in-house and carry skills across all our trades — air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical and mechanical. That matters on a breakdown. A fault that looks like a failed air conditioning unit can turn out to be an electrical supply problem or a blocked drain, and a single-trade engineer has to down tools and call in another firm. Ours don’t. More faults get sorted on the first visit, which is the difference between an hour of downtime and a day of it. The same holds for commercial refrigeration repair — cold rooms, display cabinets and cellar cooling, where every hour of failure puts stock at risk.

What usually causes a breakdown

Most commercial breakdowns come down to a handful of causes. A failed compressor. A refrigerant leak, dragging performance down before the system trips out altogether. A blocked filter or coil starving the airflow. A condensate drain that’s overflowed onto a ceiling or a shop floor. An electrical fault — a tripped contactor or a blown capacitor — stopping the unit dead. Refrigeration failures usually come from the same list, plus a door seal that’s gone or a defrost cycle that isn’t clearing properly. None of it is exotic and most of it is preventable. It gets missed because no one’s looking until an alarm goes off or the room’s already warm.

What to do when something breaks

Call. The faster we understand the fault, the faster we clear it, so have this ready if you can:

If a system is leaking refrigerant, keep people clear of the area and tell us on the call. If it’s electrical and safe to do so, isolate the circuit at the board and tell us when we arrive — if you’re not sure, leave it, and we’ll make it safe on site. We’re F-Gas certified, so we handle recovery, leak testing and repair the way the regulations require.

Turn the call-out into cover

A one-off repair gets you running again. A maintenance contract stops the same fault catching you out next time. Planned servicing picks up worn parts, low refrigerant and blocked drains before they fail, keeps your manufacturer warranties and F-Gas records in order, and puts you on the priority response rota when something does go wrong. If you’re calling us out reactively more than once or twice a year, a planned maintenance contract usually works out cheaper than the downtime. We’ll look at your kit, size the right cover for your site and set the cost out plainly.

Need an engineer now? Call our team on. Want to stop the next breakdown before it happens? Talk to us about a contract and we’ll build cover around how your site actually runs.

Frequently asked questions

Does a maintenance contract cover emergency call-outs and breakdowns?
Yes. Contract clients get faster, priority response and cover that can run up to 24/7, with response times set around how critical the site is. Reactive repairs are available to clients without a contract too, on a same-day basis. The contract is what buys you the faster response and the option of round-the-clock cover.
Yes. By law, any work involving refrigerant has to be carried out by F-Gas certified engineers. Arctic Cooling is F-Gas certified, so we can legally handle repairs, leak checks and refrigerant recovery on both air conditioning and commercial refrigeration equipment.
It depends on the lease. Usually whoever is responsible for maintaining the plant also covers repairs, which is often the tenant under a full repairing lease, but sometimes the landlord or managing agent. Check your agreement, and if you’re unsure we can work to whatever it sets out.
Small faults turn into breakdowns. Low refrigerant, blocked drains and worn parts go unnoticed until the system fails, usually at the worst possible time. Skipping servicing can also void manufacturer warranties and leave gaps in your F-Gas records. Planned maintenance works out cheaper than repeated reactive call-outs.
