Airport HVAC contractor cleared to work airside at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted in our own name. HBS cooling, PCA repairs and live-environment M&E.
Arctic Cooling is an airport HVAC contractor built around live airfield work. We’re cleared to operate airside at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted, and the clearances sit in Arctic Cooling’s own name, not borrowed through a third party. That means airside signatory status [verify exact term per airport], the security clearance behind it, airside driving permits and the engineer passes to match. Most HVAC firms can’t set foot past the security line without someone else escorting them. That single fact shapes how airports and airlines decide who gets anywhere near the plant. We hold the credentials ourselves, so we get on with the work instead of waiting on someone else’s clearance.
Working airside isn’t the same job as working landside with a different lanyard. Access is controlled, movements are tracked, and you’re operating alongside aircraft, ground crews and baggage systems that don’t stop for you. Get any of that wrong and you don’t get back in. We’ve built the systems and the habits to work cleanly in that setting, which is why airport and airline clients keep us on. Every engineer we send airside carries a pass in Arctic Cooling’s own name, not a borrowed one.
We repair pre-conditioned air (PCA) units, the systems that feed conditioned air to parked aircraft on stand so the aircraft doesn’t have to run its own APU [verify PCA naming]. It’s specialist kit in a demanding location, and turning it around quickly keeps aircraft on schedule. Not many HVAC contractors are cleared to be on stand doing it.
Beyond HBS and PCA, we cover air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation and mechanical work across live, secured airport environments. An airport estate runs on more than cooling: terminal buildings need plumbing and electrical work, retail and catering units need their equipment serviced, and all of it needs maintaining once it’s in. We deliver all seven of our trades in-house, including electrical work through our own NICEIC-approved team, so an airport client isn’t splitting the estate across several contractors and hoping they talk to each other.
One accountable contractor handles the job from survey to sign-off, with no blame-chain between separate firms when something needs fixing.
If you need an aviation HVAC contractor who can actually get to the plant, whether that’s HBS cooling, PCA repairs or wider mechanical work across your estate, we should talk. Read more about how we work airside, or get in touch to discuss the site. We’re based at Heathrow and cover West London and the Thames Valley as our core ground, then Greater London, then the wider West London and the M4 corridor. Gatwick and Stansted sit inside that reach too, on the strength of the airside clearances we hold at both.
